Adult Course - Candle Making
Wednesday 20th May and Wednesday 15th July.
Join us as we welcome Brian from Rowhill Candles for a Candle Making Course at the Rural Life Living Museum. Brian is a member of the Farnborough Craft Guild and Rowhill Candles is a retirement hobby / project that developed from giving candle making demonstrations to local organisations and then, to selling a variety of finished candles to attendees.
No previous experience is needed, just come along and learn a new skill.
You will be using soy wax to make two container candles and three beeswax pillar candles (or specific candles for the workshop) to take home. You’ll learn about different aspects of candle making, different waxes, wicks and container choices. This workshop is ideal for complete beginners. Although some protective equipment will supplied, please dress casually for this practical workshop, please!
* Please be aware that you will use Fragrance Oils to which some individual could have an allergic reaction. Fragrance oil candles are NOT recommended to be burnt if you have pets, in which case you can request to make two natural soy candles. Please inform the museum in advance of any allergies to wax, fragrance oils, foods or drinks. Any questions please email schools@rural-life.org.uk.
A maximum of 6 per workshop to allow for individual attention.
