Volunteer Recruitment Day
Volunteer With Us
Thinking about volunteering? Do you have an interest in rural life, heritage, or sharing stories with others? Come along to our Recruitment Day to meet our friendly volunteers and staff, explore behind the scenes, and discover the many ways you can get involved.
Volunteers work alongside our museum team and are an essential part of everything we do. From the woodyard, working historical objects, helping school visits, tour guides and much more.
Volunteering with us offers a rewarding and enjoyable experience, whether you’re engaging with visitors, supporting hands-on learning activities, or helping behind the scenes to preserve and share rural heritage.
As a volunteer, we can offer you:
-
Support and training to help develop your confidence, teamwork, communication skills, and knowledge, enabling you to interact with visitors through a range of hands-on learning activities.
-
The chance to get involved, have fun, and help create special memories for visitors of all ages.
-
Free entry to the site all year round, discounts in the shop and café, entry to special events, and of course plenty of tea, coffee, and refreshments while volunteering.
-
The opportunity to be part of a friendly and social community of over 100 volunteers, including invitations to events such as our annual Volunteers’ BBQ.
Whether you can spare a few hours a week or want to take on a regular role, we’d love to meet you!
All ages are welcome to apply; however, volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
If you’d like to find out more, please join us for this free event on Saturday February 7th where you can come and explore the museum and chat to volunteers and see what they do. We'd love to have you join our community!
If you can't make it, don't worry! You can always send us an email to find out more.
